Big Draw a hit!
Thanks to all who turned out to help for the Big Draw on the High Street. Once we got going, it was loads of fun. We had to bat them away at 3pm so we could go home.
Overall, it was an encouraging day where we saw many parents unable to resist allowing their kids to draw and many teens unable to resist tagging the paper like a changing room wall – no matter, all in the name of drawing! Some beautiful things were created (see the Pictures tab for images, more to come).
We will definitely be taking part in the October Big Draw next year, the Council has already indicated they will be supportive and The Strand (art shop on Grovesnor Street) has mentioned possible sponsorship form large companies which may provide materials and advertising, as well as potential art materials discounted at The Strand.
Also, there was positive feedback on holding similar events – drawing, 3D, painting, etc – in Montpellier Gardens in the spring and summer next year.
